The Toupin de Savoie is a homemade cow cheese from La Savoyarde dairy in Savoie.
Its non-conventional shape will remind you a cooking pot. In the local Savoie slang “Toupin” means a tin or terra cotta cooking pot that used to contain wine, milk or soup and was fire resistant. This heavy cheese is ideal for maturing for several months. The longer it waits, the more its melting and buttery paste will find the typical floral aromas of mountain cheeses.
